【摘要】:TheserequirementscoverSurgeProtectiveDevices(SPDs)designedforrepeatedlimitingoftransientvoltagesurgesasspecifiedinthestandardon50or60Hzpowercircuitsnotexceeding1000Vanddesignatedasfollows:Type1-permanentlyconnectedSPDsintendedforinstallationbetweenthesecondaryoftheservicetransformerandthelinesideoftheserviceequipmentovercurrentdevice,aswellastheloadside,includingwatt-hourmetersocketenclosuresandintendedtobeinstalledwithoutanexternalovercurrentprotectivedevice.Type2-PermanentlyconnectedSPDsintendedforinstallationontheloadsideoftheserviceequipmentovercurrentdevice;includingSPDslocatedatthebranchpanel.Type3-PointofutilizationSPDs,installedataminimumconductorlengthof10meters(30feet)fromtheelectricalservicepaneltothepointofutilization,forexamplecordconnected,directplug-in,receptacletypeandSPDsinstalledattheutilizationequipmentbeingprotected.Thedistance(10meters)isexclusiveofconductorsprovidedwithorusedtoattachSPDs.Type4-ComponentSPDs,includingdiscretecomponentsaswellascomponentassemblies.Theserequirementscovercord-connectedanddirectplug-inSPDsintendedforindooruseandpermanentlyconnectedSPDsintendedforindoorandoutdooruseinaccordancewiththeNationalElectricalCode,ANSI/NFPA-70.TheserequirementscoverSPDsemployingantennaconnectionsforaudio-videoproducts.AnSPDthathasabatterybackupfeatureorotheruninterruptiblepowersupplyequipmentshallalsocomplywiththeapplicablerequirementsintheStandardforUninterruptiblePowerSupplyEquipment,UL1778.TheserequirementscoverSPDs/PanelboardExtensionModules.TheseproductsshallalsocomplywithStandardforPanelboards,UL67.Thisstandarddoesnotcovercordconnectedordirectplug-inSPDsintendedforusewithmedicalequipment.MedicalequipmentistypicallyintendedforuseinGeneralPatientCareAreasorCriticalPatientCareAreasasdefinedbyArticle517oftheNationalElectricalCodeforHealthCareFacilities.SPDsintendedforsuchuseshallcomplywiththerequirementsoftheStandardforSafetyofMedicalElectricalEquipment,Part1:GeneralRequirements,UL60601-1,andtheStandardforSafetyRequirementsforMedicalElectricalSystems,IEC60601-1-1.AnSPDintendedtoserveasanoutletcoverplateoroutletboxhoodshallcomplywiththerequirementforfaceplatesintheStandardforCoverPlatesforFlushMountedWiringDevices,UL514D.
