【摘要】:Thecoreshearpropertiesarefundamentalpropertiesthatareusedinthedesignofsandwichpanels.Thistestmethodprovidesinformationontheforce-deflectionbehaviorofsandwichconstructionsorcoreswhenloadedinshearparalleltotheplaneofthefacings.Fromacompleteforce-deflectioncurve,itispossibletocomputecoreshearstressatanyforce(suchastheshearstressatproportionallimit,atyield,oratmaximumforce)andtocomputeaneffectivecoreshearmodulus.Thetestdoesnotproducepureshear,butthespecimenlengthisprescribedsothatsecondarystresseshaveaminimumeffect.Approximateshearpropertiescanalsobeobtainedfromasandwichflexuretest(seeTestMethodC393).Thistestmethodprovidesastandardmethodofobtainingsandwichcoresheardataformaterialspecifications,sandwichpaneldesign,researchanddevelopmentapplications,andqualityassurance.Factorsthatinfluencecoreshearstrengthandshallthereforebereportedincludethefollowing:facingmaterial,corematerial,adhesivematerial,methodsofmaterialfabrication,coregeometry(density,cellsize,orientation,etc.),adhesivethickness,specimengeometryandassociatedmeasurementaccuracy,specimenpreparation,specimenconditioning,environmentoftesting,specimenalignment,loadingprocedure,speedoftesting,andadhesivevoidcontent.Further,core-to-facingstrengthmaybedifferentbetweenprecured/bondedandco-curedfacingsinsandwichpanelswiththesamecoreandfacingmaterial.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofshearpropertiesofsandwichconstructioncorematerialsassociatedwithsheardistortionofplanesparalleltothefacings.Itcoversthedeterminationofshearstrengthparalleltotheplaneofthesandwich,andtheshearmodulusassociatedwithstrainsinaplanenormaltothefacings.Thetestmaybeconductedoncorematerialsbondeddirectlytotheloadingplatesorthesandwichfacingsbondedtotheplates.Permissiblecorematerialformsincludethosewithcontinuousbondingsurfaces(suchasbalsawoodandfoams)aswellasthosewithdiscontinuousbondingsurfaces(suchashoneycomb).1.2ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Withinthetexttheinch-poundunitsareshowninbrackets.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemarenotexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemmustbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnonconformancewiththestandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
