【摘要】:Theelectricalbehaviorofsemiconductingextrudedshieldingmaterialsisimportantforavarietyofreasons,suchassafety,staticcharges,andcurrenttransmission.Thistestmethodisusefulinpredictingthebehaviorofsuchsemiconductingcompounds.AlsoseeTestMethodD4496.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheprocedurefordeterminingthevolumeresistivity,measuredlongitudinally,ofextrudedcrosslinkedandthermoplasticsemiconducting,conductorandinsulationshieldsforwireandcable.1.2Whenevertwosetsofvaluesarepresented,indifferentunits,thevaluesinthefirstsetarethestandard,whilethoseinparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Foraspecifichazardstatement,see.1.3Incommonpracticetheconductorshieldisoftenreferredtoasthestrandshield.1.4Technically,thistestmethodisthemeasurementofaresistancebetweentwoelectrodesonasinglesurfaceandmodifyingthatvalueusingdimensionsofthespecimengeometrytocalculatearesistivity.However,thegeometryofthespecimenissuchastosupporttheassumptionofacurrentpathprimarilythroughoutthevolumeofthematerialbetweentheelectrodes,thusjustifyingtheuseoftheterm"longitudinalvolumeresistivity."(See3.1.2.1)
